Day #5

KEEP ON SMILING

"When you're smiling, the whole world smiles with you" Today's mission is simple: smile at EVERYONE you see today. You might get some funny looks, but you'll also reap rewards...

When I read that this was going to be today's challenge I immediately got 'Smile' stuck in my head because I am a depressive son of a bitch and also I didn't really feel all that wonderful this morning and smiling all day seemed like it was going to take more effort than I could summon. But I persevered. I mean, this is a challenge after all. (By the way, 'Smile' is a song made popular by Nat King Cole but written by Charlie Chaplin. I'm going to attach it here because if you have never heard it, you should listen to it.)

As I mentioned yesterday my plans for today fell through so, unfortunately, I didn't get to practice my creepy smile and make strangers experience that weird discomfit of having someone you don't know smile like a serial killer at you.

I kid, I kid...

If anything, that smile is COMFORTING.

Truth be told, I was kind of looking forward to going around in public smiling pleasantly at people. However, I didn't really see anyone most of the day. I drove up the road and around the neighbourhood but barely saw other drivers. I smiled at my brother when he visited this afternoon but he didn't stay very long. So, I ended up smiling at my dog periodically throughout the day. After a few occurrences she refused to look at me directly and, I speculate, is now slightly concerned about my sanity.

Anyway, here is another photo of me posing innocently and smiling ever so pleasantly. I'm smiling at YOU, internet.

Since the day isn't over yet, I will continue to smile. My cheeks are actually getting a little of a work-out. So this is what exercise feels like?
