Today's mission is to be a tourist in your own town. Visit a local attraction that you've never been to, sample local cuisine or take a guided tour. Take pictures, buy a souvenir...
Originally I wanted to go and hold a koala but, instead, a couple of days ago I visited a local art gallery (one that is internationally recognised) as part of the 'Be A Tourist For A Day' challenge. It's a place a lot of people recommend to visit especially if you have any interest in art. I actually won free tickets to the 'Up Late' evening which meant free entry PLUS access to the exhibition PLUS music PLUS food and drink - WHOO-HOO! I took along one of my friends and had a wonderful ol' time. We ate, drank, viewed the exhibition, listened to an artist talk, and even tried our hand at making some of our own art. I took some random pictures at the end of the evening just to prove that it ACTUALLY HAPPENED. (Third photo belongs to my friend.)
Look at that gorgeous bowl of fruit!
Me, sketching. Sketching is srs business.
My shiny postcard souvenir. It now hangs on my wall.
